A Case of Congenital Patent Urachus

Abstract

|
|
A case of congenital patent urachus in a 24 years old soldier was reported in which was characteristic clinical manifestations of foul odored serous umbilical discharge, protrusion of umbilicus and traction pain on the lower abdomen. The incidence of patent urachus is very rare and about seventy cases have been reported in the world literature since in 1550 first description of patent urachus by Barthelomaeus Galbriolus. A brief discussion of incidence, embryology, classification, diagnosis, complication and treatment are included for completeness.
